Just entered your site. I got excited seeing two of my names... Hummel and Peters. Peters is very common. My grandfather, Gerald Leslie Hummel married Elsie Emma Anna Peters in 1921. Now I will be going in to se if there's a connection.

My Great Great Grandmother is Mary Enders. She is a descendent, according to a letter my Grandfather received in 1957 from Howard Enders, of the seventh child of Philip Christian Enders. Mary was married to Samuel Cogley, and I do no have exact years, but their son, William Robert Cogley was born in 1867. I had not been able to trace the family back any further, but because of the letter from Howard, do believe that Mary Enders is a descendent of Philip Christian. Thank you for your website.

A final question: has anyone traced the ancestory of John Franklin Enders, the 1954 Nobel Laureate? He was born in West Hartford CT on Feb. 2, 1897 to John Ostrom Enders (sometime chairman of Hartford National Bank) and his wife Harriet Goulden Enders (nee Whitmore). I believe former US ambassador to Canada and to Spain Thomas Ostrom Enders was J.F.'s nephew. None of these men appear in the Enders Geneology. They may be related to the Thomas Enders of Enders Island, Mystic CT. These Hartford families might (speculatively) be connected to Phillip Christian Enders through Germany.

My Grandfather, Clemens Enders, {b.1857} arrived in New York City on the ship "FULDA" from Bremen, Germany on 12/24/1883. He was 27 years old and listed his occupation as a 'farmer'. He settled in Allegheny City {now Pittsburgh} PA. He married Matilda Hasenauer 4/21/1890. Their children were: Lucy and Frances [twins], Ann, Leo and Clarence. Clemens died 2/28/1921. Lucy married a man named Kelly and had several children. Frances married a George Birx and had one son. Ann married Albert Bauer and had two children. Leo married Aleda Seabert and had two sons, Richard and Regis. Clarence married Mary {?} and had two sons. I am searching for descendants in Pittsburgh, PA and Marina, Cal.

Hello all, found that I am related to the Enders family as I found my father/grandparent listed in Volume 1 of The Enders Geneology.

I also have a question for anyone in charge or gathering data. I have tried, twice, to send an email to Marilyn Wilbert at email wilbert@epix.net.
